LEVELS OF CONTACT This ministry is dedicated to forming and maintaining trust. The contact's identity, information and issues will remain confidential. We have four ways you can contact Light in the Closet. Information, Counseling and Discussion Forum: 1) No Contact (information only) Anyone is very welcome to peruse this web site in anonymity. No effort will be made to identify or contact you. The general information and resources posted on the web site are for anyone to use. 2) Personal Contact (one-on-one lay care giving) An individual making contact may do so through email. Or, if they desire to talk with a lay caregiver, this could be arranged either by email, phone or in person. Phone calls must be prearranged as to day and time. Those wishing to receive caregiving may contact Randall Klein at: RKlein@lightinthecloset.org 3) Light in the Closet Discussion Forum (online discussion group) You are cordially invited to become a member of the "Light in the Closet" discussion forum! On the forum we discuss all aspects of life as a transgendered follower of Christ. We also welcome with open arms the loved ones of transgendered Christians. Our goal is to maintain a Christian fellowship environment. We believe it is neither natural nor healthy for anyone to live life "within a closet". God designed us to be part of a community. We hope you'll join us This list is monitored. To avoid having messages censored, please read, and adhere to the Rules for Posting (see below). The overall principle of discussion is taken from Ephesians 4:31-32... “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” You are welcome to peruse the forum as a visitor. By becoming a registered member of the forum, you'll gain access to the entire site. There are lots of opportunities to get to know other members. Helpful instructions are available to guide you through registration and the log-in process. You can also find everything else you need to know to become an active forum member. (NEW!) We are offering a Support Group Meeting to discuss the issue of Gender Incongruity and Christian Faith. Are you questioning your gender expression in light of Biblical teaching and our western culture? People who questioning their gender identity often struggle with confusion or guilt. Gender identity is a highly personal issue and because it is, most people deal with this issue alone and in secret. This brand new support group is designed to create a safe place to discuss this issue in an open, non-judgmental, Christ-centered way. Meetings will be on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. These meetings take place in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Please call or email Randall Klein at 925-586-4651 or RKlein@lightinthecloset.org to RSVP that you are coming and to get location and directions. Ministry Resources and Information: When it comes to gender-incongruency, trained therapists and medical professionals will always be on the frontlines of care. Many of these issues are outside the experience of most clergy and the general church population. There is a profound need for pastors, clergy and lay caregivers to be informed and involved in the socially complex issue of gender identity. Therefore, Light in the Closet has prepared information and materials to help inform those who want to understand these complex issues. A file containing a church packet of information regarding Light in the Closet can be viewed or printed in pdf form: LITC Church Packet A file containing transgender counseling guidelines and information for pastors and clergy can be viewed or printed in pdf form: Transgender Health A file containing a brochure for distribution to congregations and faith bodies can be viewed or printed in pdf form: Christian Faith and Gender Identity All of these materials may be requested in printed form as well.
